Marlins,
I am excited to share some updates about our summer swim team.
First, registration is open! You can access the registration online platform by clicking the link to the RIGHT ---> If you have more than one swimmer, please register directly with Kim by calling 336-641-2015 so she can manually process your multi-child discount. If you register online, the system does not have the capability of reducing the fees for multiple participants, and we will not be able to process refunds. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. The cost is $120 and includes a team t-shirt, team cap, CSA dues, and an individual summer membership to Bur-Mil for the swimmer. Team swimsuits (or similar competitive suit) and goggles must be purchased by each athlete.
Next, I will be posting and emailing a calendar of events soon but wanted to make you aware of KEY Dates. Please notes the following items on your calendar.
May 19 & 20 – 5-6:30pm: skills assessment for new swimmers and those who have had substantial growth in swim skills since the last season
May 22 – 7:30-9:30am (exact time based on practice group): first practice! Swimmers will be assigned to a practice group based on their skills assessment. Swimmers will only attend during the time for their group.

May 29 – 7:30-9:30am Mock Meet: All NEW swimmers will participate in a practice meet for the entire practice time. Swimmers will get to practice their races and relays as well as have a time entered for the first actual meet.
June 1 – 1st Swim Meet @ Friendly Frogs
Lastly, I am excited to share that long time Marlin and Division 1 collegiate swimmer Abby Schoppa will be stepping up as head coach this summer. I, and several other seasoned parents will be supporting her in the background to ensure that she and all of you have a successful summer swim season. Abby is an incredible swimmer and coach with a heart for working with kids. She brings a positive attitude, enthusiasm and experience to this role and I am very excited for our team under Abby’s leadership. Please take a moment to congratulate Abby and welcome her into this new role. She can be reached by email at abbyyyyy03@gmail.com.
Best,
Mary Beth Murphy
